From a love of plants, a business is sprouted.

I grew up between two jungles: the land of my family’s farm and the urban jungle of my home. I spent my youth in Campinas, Brasil, a city in the megalopolis of São Paulo. Growing up, my parents cultivated a love of plants in me. They would take me and my brother to our small farm, located in the rural state of Minas Gerais. There I became inspired by the beauty and rich interconnectivity of the land.

In Campinas, we had our own at-home jungle. I have fond memories of tending to it with my family, and the sense of the togetherness the plants brought to our home. When I left home and went abroad, I lived in more urban jungles. I found myself missing the connection to nature that taking care of plants brings.

In 2023, I met someone that feels about the same way about the world as I do. My girlfriend. Throughout her life she split her time between the beaches and cypress forests of Florida, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, of North Carolina. This instilled in her an appreciation and fondness for the world around her.

Our shared love of plants led us to start Planta Vida Co. Together we want to share our jungle with you and help you cultivate your own.
